Today’s question of the day is “Can I get an MRI with braces?”
This is a common question we get with patients who need an MRI during orthodontic treatment. The answer is it depends. It is typically safe to have an MRI done if you have braces. However, if the area that the MRI tech or doctor is trying to view is in the area of your teeth or lower head region, it may distort the picture that they are trying to see. So you want to ask the doctor or MRI tech if the braces are going to be in the way.
