Description:

Diamond Braces is currently hiring an IT Specialist to provide software and network support, training and troubleshooting in a networked computer environment, and on a wide range of applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft products.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented person capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well, an enthusiastic person who shows intense and eager enjoyment and interest, a team player who works well as a member of a group, and a self-starter who is inspired to perform without outside help.

The IT Specialist must also be able to lift office equipment if needed and have a clean driving record. The ideal candidate for this role is based in New York and speaks English and, preferably, Russian.

Responsibilities:

The IT Specialist will act as software support to the entire organization of Diamond Braces providing technical assistance to all locations and administrative staff. They will respond to user requests for service and determines nature and extent of support needed and provide support or referrals to the appropriate staff member. The IT Specialist will install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of software used throughout the company operations, and will perform hardware/software upgrades to existing computer equipment as needed. This also includes regularly scheduled maintenance activities with appropriate timing. This role will be expected to maintain our inventory and physical location of all hardware devices. As a member of the help desk services staff, the IT Specialist will respond to software problem calls on site or over the phone for users. They will investigate error messages and troubleshoot until a resolution is found. This includes, but is not limited to, re-installs of programs or replacing files that are causing errors, calling software vendor or accesses on-line technical support to obtain software update, provide network support to Dental Offices wide which includes installing networked application software, and granting access to users, creating user groups, managing shared resources, and making specific files read-only. This role will also work with software vendors to obtain specifications, pricing, and other purchase related information needed to guide departments in their selection of software. They may also assist in negotiating site license and coordinates volume purchase arrangements for standard software packages. The IT Specialist will train users in Ortho 2, Microsoft Office 365. May provide group training on request. This role will also be asked to perform other related and miscellaneous duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position.

Skills:

Requires special technical knowledge of the techniques and procedures of software and network support for multiple users. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Must understand installation, configuration and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, networking and accessory equipment. Prefer a working understanding of the healthcare company operations, goals and objectives related to IT services. Prefer knowledge of how to assemble and disassemble personal computer components. Prefer network certification or equivalent experience. Prefer experience working with ticketing system to submit and update requests.

Qualifications:

This position requires the ability to independently perform all the duties of the position efficiently and effectively. This position requires special technical knowledge of the techniques and procedures of software and network support for multiple users. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills are also a necessity. The ideal candidate must understand installation, configuration and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, networking, and accessory equipment. Diamond Braces would prefer the candidate have a working understanding of the healthcare company operations, goals and objectives related to IT services, how to assemble and disassemble personal computer components, network certification or equivalent experience, experience working with ticketing system to submit and update requests. The IT Specialist must be able to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain all the software applications and peripheral equipment used. They must have strong communication and training skills and be able to communicate technical information to non-technical users

Education Requirements:

Associate’s or better in Computer Science or related field required, Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science or a related field preferred.

Experience Requirements:

2 years of IT support including hardware/software/network installation & maintenance.
